Fast & Furious 7 will be the next installment in the Fast and the
Furious series following up from Fast & Furious 6 and Tokyo Drift.
Justin Lin has announced he will not be directing. James Wan is signed on as director for the next film. Jason Statham will play the villain, Ian Shaw, brother of Owen Shaw (Luke Evans, Fast & Furious 6). Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Ludacris, and Jordana Brewster
are all signed on for the film as their characters from previous films.
Fast & Furious 7 rolls into theaters in 2014, next summer. Filming
will start in August, 2013.
A couple of months ago, it was rumored that Jason Statham was going to play the main bad guy in Fast and Furious 7, which I thought would be amazing. Today, we have confirmation of that news thanks to Michelle Rodriguez! In a recent interview with Desde Hollywood, she was asked if Statham would be in the movie, and this was her reply,
I've always thought Statham would fit in perfectly with this franchise. I'm excited that it's going to happen. You've got to admit, it will be fun watching him kick Walker, Johnson, and Deisel's asses!
